Information stored locally
The app stores preferences such as language, lyric style, timing adjustments and nearby-device settings. It can also store lyric and translation caches, saved lyric moments, notes, vocabulary and local diagnostics or usage limits. These records are kept in the app's local storage and are not uploaded by Cross Lyrics as an account database.
Information sent to services
Lyric lookup
When you request online lyrics or translations, the app may send song metadata such as title, artist, album and duration to the selected lyric provider. The provider receives the request under its own privacy policy. On Mac, imported local LRC files can be used without an online lyric lookup.
Apple Music and Spotify
Apple Music and Spotify authorization is handled by the platform or Spotify. Cross Lyrics uses the permissions and tokens needed to read playback state and, where supported, control playback. Spotify authorization tokens are kept in the device Keychain; Cross Lyrics does not receive your Spotify password.
Optional AI services
If you configure an AI translation, romanization or line-explanation service, the app sends the necessary song and lyric text to the endpoint, model and key you provide. That provider may retain or process the content and may charge fees under its own terms. AI is optional and original lyrics remain available without it.
Nearby lyric screens
When you pair devices, Cross Lyrics exchanges lyric and playback state over your local network. Pairing keys are stored in the device Keychain. If you confirm AI sharing for a paired device, the AI API key is transferred only through the encrypted local session and stored in that device's Keychain; it is not sent to Cross Lyrics servers. The nearby display does not hand off music or send playback commands to the source device.
Sharing, tracking and security
Cross Lyrics does not sell personal information, serve behavioral advertising or use an in-app analytics tracker. Network traffic uses the endpoint's transport security where the service supports HTTPS. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so keep AI keys private and use only endpoints you trust.
Your choices and deletion
You choose whether to authorize a music player, use online lyric lookup, pair a nearby device or configure an AI service. You can revoke player or Local Network permissions in system settings, unpair nearby devices in the app, remove saved local content from the app or device, and uninstall the app. Because Cross Lyrics does not create an account, there is no Cross Lyrics account record to close. Contact [email protected] if you need help identifying local data or have a privacy request.
Children
Cross Lyrics is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly create accounts for children or collect personal information through an account system.
Changes to this policy
